Surprise Twins

We flew out to San Diego for Robbie's brother, Doug's, wedding and met the rest of the family... and as fate would have it, when we saw Robbie's dad, Rex, history was made:

Birthday Festivities - Part Two (Too much? Maybe...)

So, yes, this is Prince Jacob's second birthday party. Don't worry, I'm not planning on pushing him into toddler pageants or anything - I'm just a sucker for family parties and babies covered in cake.

This time we decided to forgo the highchair and let Jacob just got for the cake on the floor. It was pretty darn cute. 

He knew just what to do with that cake - he was not timid at all.

And no, I didn't let Jacob eat the whole cake... much to his dismay!

He may not really know what it means to get presents, but I definitely think he knew the day was all about him.

Birthday Festivities - Part One

This birthday boy got two parties... which is kind of funny and ridiculous since he really could care less. However, coming from a mom who gets excited to pick out his outfit everyday, you knew I was going to possibly go overboard on his 1st birthday. 

While on vacation with my family we had a combined birthday for my cousin-brother Ryan, cousin Megan and Jacob. I wrote the names on the cake... I think you can tell I'm no professional.

I tried to have Jacob's first piece of cake also be his first taste of sugar, but with 9 aunts, 4 uncles, and 4 grandparents that love to spoil this boy that did not happen! (I know you've all been sneaking him M&Ms!) 

He loved his cake!

On his actual birthday we went to park for some family time

One Year...

One year ago today Jacob arrived!

Even though I always knew that Jacob would start to grow up, 

there was a part of me that thought he would be a baby forever...

1 year TODAY!

He is still basically a baby, but he is bordering on toddler-hood! This little boy is so sweet and precious. I really can't wait to watch him grow up... but then again, it makes me a little weepy to think of him getting bigger, too. Happy Birthday, Jacob!
