Lizzard

My sister Liz is awesome.
She recently came to visit and of course we had a blast.

She went to school with me.
We toured the city.
We ate good food.
We went shopping.
Perfect.

Gotta' love The Bean
And the CTA is so magical
Sears Tower
(I will never call it the Willis Tower. That's ridiculous.)

And, of course, everyone who comes to Chicago gets to meet Obama

CHIrish

St Patty's Day in the Chi:
Friendly kayak-ers in the neon green water
. . . and their dog. Of course.

Our friend's cute kids. This was too darling to pass up.
We almost had to pinch Kristal :)
And I'm Irish. So yes, Robbie DID kiss me.

Animal Planet

We have had quite the animal encounters as of late:

The other night, we get out of our car and there- on the wall of our parking garage- is a GIANT raccoon. I didn't even really know there were raccoons in the "city". We chased it away. (Well, I wanted to chase it away, I think Robbie was trying to catch it or hug it.)

And seriously, what the heck is up with this monster pony-dog? It is SO huge. This dog IS a pony. We just had to stop and take a picture.
And by the way, this woman is 5'7.
She said the dog was as friendly as can be, but I make it a habit to not keep things that have the potential to eat my face off at their leisure in my home. That's just me.

Creepster

Yesterday I was driving. Minding my own business even . . . when SUDDENLY I was cut off by a gray mini-van driven by this young man (or old man, depending on how you look at it):

I kid you not! Edward Cullen (not Robert Pattinson) is alive and well and living in Chicago . . . Driving mini-vans . . . and cutting people off. Totally rude.

Dude

There was some crazy rain a couple days ago.
This is why I carry my camera in my purse.

Oh, just a wave washing up on the sidewalk,
no big deal . . .

And for the record, this is not a stream pictured below.
It's suppose to be an alley.
Now it's a raging river, impassable and vast.
Mother Nature was pissed about something . . .
